15 Degrees From Reality - 4 track EP

3.00

’15 Degrees From Reality’ comprises three wildly upbeat original songs laced with classic rock guitar riffs and thundering rhythms, plus the emotional ‘Nowhere Land’ – a cry from the heart that triggers the senses.

Derecho is unmistakably a rock band and, appropriately enough, the term ‘Derecho’ means a ‘fast moving band of severe thunderstorms’. Their music is a set of high impact genres, skilfully blended into an original and instantly recognisable rock sound that stands out for its quality and emotional appeal in today’s crowded music world.

The EP’s opening track, ‘Autumn in Amber’, lulls you into an initial false sense of security with a keyboard intro and a guitar riff, and then proves your mistake when Jo Ash’s vocals lock you in and the song takes off. ‘December 2nd’ simply blows you away right from the off - a compelling rock song that the band often plays to close its live performances, usually with raucous vocal help from a fully engaged audience. ‘Nowhere Land’ has Jo up front and vulnerable, with plaintive vocals and supporting instrumentation that gradually builds up and puts its arms around her as the song develops and pulls you into her world. And just when you thought you’d run the full gamut of emotions, ‘Summer Rain (storm remix)’ comes in and demolishes your senses, hitting you over the head with complex drumming, full-on guitar and bass, and vocal refrains that stay with you long after the song finishes.
